Shade is an exact copy of her mother, Shadow but does not have her unique abilities. Instead she has ninja talent and an "animal guide"; a black dragon named Nightcloud. She's a sensitive girl, but very precise and quick in battle. She and her twin brother, Sigma, often fight as most siblings do, but with knives and clever fighting maneuvers.
They often practiced together in the forest near their home and to show off new tricks. Shade discovered her aura energy and Nightcloud one afternoon while practicing alone. Nightcloud taught her how to use some aura energy and shift between normal and dragon form to defend herself. She returned home and told her family who were surprised and happy for Shade.
When they didn't fight, they were off exploring the area around their home. This led to them meeting Obsidian who convinced Sigma to join him. This greatly upset Shade. She ran off into some nearby woods blaming herself for not attacking while she could and not being able to keep her brother away from them. She later went to get him back with her mother and returned home.
A short time later, her brother took up drinking. She got her parents to get rid of the rest, but that didn't seem to stop him. She was promised he would stop, but caught him a few days later with another bottle and was very upset she had been lied to and again couldn't stop her brother. He soon quit and things went back to normal.
She spent most of her time in the woods after that. This is where she met Jr. They talked a bit and started meeting in the middle of the woods everyday to spend time with each other. They soon had girl named Sapphire. Neither side knew what was going on. Shade got busted a short time later by her brother and they told the rest of the family while Jr told Galvatron, his father. Neither side seemed that upset, until Shade told Galvatron she was Starscream's niece, and we all know what would happen after that.
A few months later, Sapphire was messing with a teleporter and ended up in the Combaticon base right in front of King Nightmare. Shade got teleported a little further off, thankfully not near any other troops. She eventually found Sapphire and took her home after a brief encounter with King Nightmare.
When Sapphire was 16, she and Shade went with Starscream and most of the family on a mission against the Combaticons. After some fighting and ship repairs, they all came back and Shade and Jr now had a son, Blastwave.
After a while, Shade became a target of King Nightmare's. She was captured and was reprogrammed to serve Nightmare. She had been teleported home to get King Nightmare files on a Null Lazer Cannon (NLC), which she successfully got without much trouble. A few days after bringing back the files, she was ordered to destroy Starscream, her Uncle. She, being reprogrammed, only wanted to please Nightmare and attacked her Uncle. To her surprise, Nightcloud had warned them and merged with Starscream long enough to fight Shade and possibly knock some sense into her, which didn't work. Shade failed that mission and returned to the Combaticon base disappointed of failure of any type.
Nightcloud's plan had seemed to not work, but afterwards, Shade had second thoughts about her situation. She started to remember her family and how she wanted to be with them instead of fighting in the war. But the program had the upper hand and kept her where she was. Sapphire had attempted several times to rescue Shade, but couldn't since the ones around her kept her busy. Jr eventually took a stand and kidnapped Storm to make a deal for Shade's return. Shade came home happily and found her two children had abilities like Shadow.
Shade is very happy to be home and proud of her children.
